If you have been up or down Hartcliffe Way recently, you can’t help noticing that the site of the former Bristol Waste depot has been cleared, ready to build the much-needed Hartcliffe Way Recycling and Reuse Centre.

This Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility, bringing this service much closer to local people, who have previously had to travel to St Phillips or Avonmouth to get rid of unwanted household items.

There will be a shop onsite selling reconditioned goods, all the valuable elements will be recycled to reduce landfill, and there will also be an education centre that schools and other interested groups can use.

“Alongside Mayor Marvin Rees’ pledge to reduce the cost of collecting bulky items, this should make a real difference to the amount of fly-tipping we see in our area.”
