As a teacher and National Education Union (NEU) Representative in his school, Ted is passionate about supporting teachers and defending their rights.  This is why he supports the NEU campaign to introduce a supply pool for temporary teachers in Bristol, where teachers are directly employed by the Council rather than by supply agencies. The benefits would be that schools would be more likely to get teachers who are subject/key stage specialists because they have access to the database, temporary staff would be more motivated as their pay and conditions would reflect their qualifications and skills, and temporary staff would become known to pupils and the school, providing more continuity and consistency for pupils and thus better educational outcomes”.
