Michele Tedder and Brandon Gage
Candidates for Knowle Ward May 2021
Brandon and Michele are both residents of Knowle – they value the community feeling, the parks, the swimming pool, the library and access to retail and health services. If elected, they’d put their skills and experience to good use whether responding on individual matters or representing the community on a major project. They will listen, provide feedback and stand up for the local community on the issues that matter.
Brandon and Michele are delighted to hear that a new local Secondary School is on the horizon – the Planning Application to create a new Community Building and a new Secondary School (outline planning) at Daventry Road has recently been approved. This will enable “Oasis Community Learning” to progress with getting detailed planning approved in the near future.
Recent planning approvals for Knowle will see much needed new housing developments at Tavistock Road (12 flats, including 2 affordable) and Airport Road where Boklok will develop 173 homes including 30% social housing. We are pleased that this contributes to Labour’s ambitious affordable housing targets.
The recent consultation on proposed changes to the transport network has given the opportunity for residents to comment on giving more priority to buses along the Wells Road corridor and also a higher frequency of buses on the no2 route – we welcome this as a positive contribution to reduction of CO2 emissions, faster and more reliable journeys.
